I get a little OCD about taking care of grass. Every place I've ever lived that had a yard ended up with a much nicer yard after I lived there for a year.

Go you.

I did lawn care for a job. Never, ever again. I'm gonna garden and that's it.

Too late to start a garden here this year but next year I'm going to kick ass at it

Cool.

You can start the prep by killing off the grass and getting the beds ready.

I just do both, I think I've mastered it.

A healthy, watered lawn provides oxygen for 4 human beings daily.

Luckily I live in a water-rich country, so theres never any advisories.

I am not a little, but completely OCD about my lawn. It raises the bar for the neighbours. Its a new subdivision in a small town of 3000 people and plenty of nature and farms too.

One of my neighbours was a litterbug (lots of rants about that) and he littered on his lawn, didnt take care of it, it was the eye sore of the neighbourhood.

One day when he decided to mow it, I ran over with my trimmer to do the detailing. He was so pround and took pictures and sent it to family overseas. Now he keeps up with it and the litter problem is going away too.

After 3 years of it frustrating me, this was the solution. Now our whole section of the subdivision is the envy of the town with all our perfect golf green short lawns.

I love grass 😉

I don't. It's a waste of time and resources. Gardens are better than just grasses. I am vehemently opposed to any sort of monoculture.

I pretty much have made a hobby of dispelling the myths you are presenting. Its not a waste of time when youre doing something that brings you joy and produces oxygen and makes your property look nice and tidy. If you hate mono culture, I wish you have neighbours one day like mine used to be 😄

As I mentioned I do both, so it not mono cultures. Its segregated areas.

I am vehemently opposed to people who just LET THINGS GROW WILD without taking care of them.

This attracts rodents, pests and other things that bring down the enjoyment of your space and its value.

People who hate lawns need to move into a condo lol

Live and let live!

Dude, cool. But I hate lawns.

A condo? GTFO. I'm moving into the woods.

If you like lawns, fine. I don't. I'm never going to. I hate lawn care. I've mowed more l lawns than most ever will. I can't stand the time and energy it takes to pretty up a lawn, and prefer seeing a yard with clover and dandelions and such. Blech.

Time and energy? I guess you were doing it wrong!

We get it. You hate lawns.

We love them.!

Yes. Time and energy. I hate repetitive tasks. Dishes, laundry, lawn are, etc.

Remind me to never eat at your place 🦌

Meh

I still do it, I just hate it.

ok you had me worried you were living in dirty clothing and eating off dirty plates and brushing foodscraps onto your unkept property to purposely feed rodents like some people out there 😃

*sighs*

No.

Just get paper plates man.

Dont stress, be happy!

But then I spend more money and have less for things that I want... So I wash dishes. Eventually I'll have a dish washer and not have to worry so much.

Maybe you need to back to taking care of lawns for a while so you can afford that dishwasher and your cabin in the woods.

:)

No thanks. Welding pays a lot better.

Dishwashers aren't that expensive. ;)

They are for what fits the space I have available for one m

Back to the sink for you!

Unfortunately, yes. Always.

I'm about to genocide all the burrowing rodents in this lawn!

As someone who works in between the real estate and construction industry, I agree with you. I’ve found that it doesn’t have to be crazy good looking, just maintained and fertilizer applied regularly… although it’s a plus if the grass is of one variety lol.

That’s also another rabbit hole. Which grass is the best, in your opinion, for productivity and environment?

My experience over the years is, if you are already dealing with a significantly mixed lawn, keep mixing! 😄

Otherwise it really depends on where you live and your climate and surrounding conditions...
