I know there’s a paid and free version. I think depending on file size but I’m not positive. A while back it was the only way to upload to nostr but times are changing.

Yes, you can upload there and then copy/paste the URL on Damus. This is essentially what’s done in background when you upload directly on Damus.
Since you’re experience the issue within the app, this might mean you’re running into the upper limit of the free version (25 MB if I’m not mistaken).
