It’s a purple check to verify that your name is legitimate. You register with a service like nostrplebs.com so no one can steal your exact name. The people hosting make a small upfront fee. It's not verification in the same manner. It's just a way to give your public key a human readable format. You can verify that a website domain points to a public key.
