I especially hate when they try to speak for the user experience but they don't have direct exposure to the different kinds of scenarios that can happen, or they pretend not to.
the maxi will use L1 after the fee market has collapsed and pretend that fees never get high enough to harm the UX.
they will consolidate UTXOs after enough people have been pushed out to other chains and pretend that nobody has ever been forced off of the chain due to high fees and unspendable balances.
they will send LN payments between two well-connected hubs and pretend that nobody struggles with failed payments.
they will use minibits to conceal a sum worth a bag of potato chips and pretend that this is good enough to operate a DNM.
sometimes they will say opposite things. out of one corner of their mouth they talk about financial freedom and banking the unbanked. out of the other corner of their mouth they will make excuses for scaling via custodians. as soon as cashu enters the conversation they will pretend that innocent people have never been kicked out of a custodial bitcoin service.
they will boast that bitcoin has the best security in the world and everything that falls short is a scam, and then they will do everything in their power to bypass that security by cheerleading for offchain scaling solutions that don't inherent any of it.
if a bitcoin maxi likes to use the word "shitcoin," pay close attention to the things they ignorantly advocate for. they think the little B with a line going through it is a magic talisman that can erase any negative properties that other coins might have.
