Why strip? Ribeye is superior. If you want something leaner, flank steak or bavette is more flavorful.

Ribeye is irritating to me. I don’t like holding it, I don’t like trimming it, I don’t like cutting it. I get pissed off every single time I handle a piece of ribeye. I use to eat a lot of ribeyes, until I really grew tired of it. Now I only eat it occasionally.

Ribeye and strip are the most accessible cuts. Keep the cost low, and easier to shop.

Flank is fine but it’s not my favorite texture. And a lot of time some part of the cut runs a little thin.

It all comes down to personal preference. I find something that works and I stick to it. Same cut, same plain seasoning, everyday.
