Yes, technically it’s a second Flippening. Thank you #[0] for sharing the link. Back in 2017 the Lightning Network wasn’t developed enough to use yet, and the NFT and token craze were still in their infancy.

I still think this is a historic moment, because we’re in a very different environment now.

It’s not the second. https://mempool.space/block/0000000000000000000bfa75b9bc2ecd104386e7b6877a5fedd8a791469f3a99

And I don’t think those were even the first two. Bitcoin has more history than you’re willing to explore obviously!

How long were those high fee periods sustained? Wasn’t most of that due to spam attacks to promote use of bitcoin forks?

Like all of 2017… we just showed you blocks from literally months apart…

And that was during the time when the Bitcoin Cash promoters were actively attacking bitcoin on multiple fronts to try to convince everyone to follow them.

And this isn’t an attack on bitcoin by big blockers?

Ordinals people literally just held a five hour long space on how they broke bitcoin on twatter. Same spammy shit, different cycle.

They’re free to think that and waste their money, but there isn’t a bitcoin hard fork war going on now. Those dudes already lost and they’re probably just bitter about it. They can HFSP.

I remember paying tx fees in December 2017 😂

I did it once or twice by accident, I think I paid $20 to send $1 and then just decided to stop transacting altogether until the fees came down again. We didn’t have Lightning yet.
