This message is sent from next.nostrudel.ninja using a different and exciting login method than I normally use. Instead of relying on a traditional NIP-07 browser extension, I signed in through an nsecBunker app on my Android phone.

The process was incredibly simple: I scanned a QR code displayed on Nostrudel using the Amber app, and I was instantly logged in. This streamlined approach allows me to effortlessly approve individual events or set up bulk permissions, similar to the familiar experience of using authentication apps for other services.

While this capability has been available in Amber for some time, it's a powerful feature worth highlighting. Web applications can easily integrate a NIP-46 nsecBunker login with two user-friendly options: QR code scanning or simple text string copy-paste. Though, the scanning of a QR code makes this a no-brainer setup.

Wider adoption of nsecBunker login offers significant benefits for non tech savvy Nostriches. Scanning a QR code or copying text is far more intuitive than managing browser extensions, especially for users unfamiliar with them - which is apparently a lot more than you would realize. Users retain complete control over their private keys stored securely within nsecBunker and don't have to have multiple signing devices, apps, or extensions.

iOS does not have an Amber-like application though. We'll need to find an iOS developer interested to port over Amber or build an iOS compatible nsecBunker signing application so that Apple users can join their Android brethren.

Have a link to this amber app? There are dozens with that name in the playstore...

What do you need to get this working?

Where does nsecbunker run?

👀 free or play version?

I need to try this.

No I mean on the GitHub releases page there's three versions? Free, Play and Offline. I assume the offline version is out of the question for this

Play is the version on the Play Store. Free is F-Droid.

Makes sense, will give the free version a go 🫡

i've been trying to sign into a nostrudel pwa with amber for months. can never get it to work, even though there's an 'Amber' button

That works too on mobile but I was using a complete different device.

It's pretty slick. I've been doing this to sign into myself hosted Nostrudel.

I've been using this for about a month now to test it :)

I used to sign in with #nostrudel especially on the desktop, but it looks like it doesn't work well, it crashed continuosly and stucked me with loading pages
