I'm usually one to shop for performance per dollar, and AMD has been the consistent winner on that front. AMD laptops are less common, so I haven't always had the option to exercise my preference.

My father just started working for AMD recently as well, but I don't think that has caused me bias. (Considering he was at Apple for a good while, and I never stopped hating Apple, I think I remain pretty principled.)
