Always be on the lookout for the worst possible interpretation of events. That’s just prudence.

Alternate hypothesis: Government systems and databases are likely a shit show and it is really hard just to get a list of all government employees. This is a feature for big gov types because it hinders workforce analysis and actions like… reductions in force. DOGE guys show up to collect this data and lifetime bureaucrats throw a fit and tell the world exaggerated or inaccurate information to try to delay progress.

Either way - maybe we should not allow government to collect all this information about us. Elon may not get ahold of it, but I’ll bet you 1,000 Sats that if it’s in a .gov database - China already has it.

Give me a break. This would easily violate my company’s rules on data security and I don’t work for the government.

As far as China having it, there was the OPM database breach awhile back. But that would *not* be up to date.
