Dang 1400 with diy parts

Yep, but compared to Apple it’s cheap af. I got a MacBook Pro with a broken “A” key… repair costs: 1800$

Because the keyboard is soldered onto the mainboard.

With framework you can repair / replace pretty much any part for cheap. And once they release a new version, you can upgrade the mainboard and use the old one inside a 3d printed chassis as a home server

It is. I have another from them on my (former) MacBook Air. Excellent quality. Highly recommend.
