Twisting open-source software, Creative Commons works, public domain resources, or other forms of free knowledge into proprietary products or patents—especially when these could help advance human freedom more rapidly—only to enforce restrictive licenses and live off lawsuits, undermines the integrity of open collaboration.

Such practices exploit the freedom meant for everyone to profit off a few, betraying the principles that open-source is built upon. I firmly stand against this. #FreeFOSS
