The money situation in Argentina is eye opening.

Buenos Aires is magical despite it.

Tragic really.

I had trouble last year at the cambio because my US dollars were not perfect. If there is a tear or ink on the bill they will not change it or will discount the value. Beautiful country. I hope you have a great time!

Yeah someone should’ve told you that janky dollars don’t make the cut at the cuevas! Now it’s not an issue for foreigners: a recent law allows Visa/Mastercard etc. to operate at an exchange rate similar to the blue dollar. Huge win for tourism.

If you need anything in El Chalten or El Calafate call Eduardo. His WhatsApp number is 5492966756892. He drove us to the back side of Fitz Roy so that we could hike the two trails. Also he picked us up and returned us to the airport.

Lmao, my wife had a cut and some blood got on a crisp 100… now the hotel would not exchange it.

Wait, why is that?

Only perfect bills allowed I guess. Like I said, shit is eye opening.

“Only perfect money accepted here…”

…they are so close.

Sam as Nostr, only perfect money is accepted.

Amen. No one rides out crises like Argentinians; they do it with style.

I wouldn’t have “got” Bitcoin as early as I did had it not been for the fact that I lived there 15 years ago and all my friends have heartbreaking stories of currency failure.

The country needs dollarization as a temporary triage (USDT use is through the roof), which is a stepping stone to a Bitcoin standard.

💯🤌🏽 the human spirit can overcome any obstacle

and I’m afraid brazil is going down the same path.

☹️

After being here you will understand why bitcoin makes sense

I’m learning. Thanks for the tips. Saving me 45% + on my travels
