Tailscale, holesail, cloudflare tunnels, nginx proxy server. When / how to use them and some alternatives. Just a few important topics when self hosting stuff for yourself.

Any plug and play options for us non techies?

Wen can I run a large LLM on a Pi5?

I'd like to see a discussion of security cameras that are self-hosted

We're offgrid, run Openhab, have it integrated with our weather station. PV solar system, grey water pumps, hobby Bitcoin miner, and Lightning powered goat feeder.

This year we'll be wiring in the well pump, and maybe by Spring automating all our window shades based on temperatures inside and outside the house, solar intensity, etc..

We run our server inside our home network and use wireguard / nginx to connect to a VPS which acts as a router and firewall. This is a big part of the magic behind the Goat Feeder.

What weather station do you use?

Considering getting something to monitor a greenhouse, but would like multiple sensors for other areas and a dedicated display would be nice.

We've been using an Ambient Weather weather station since 2017.

What are the differences between the main FOSS home automation systems? For which application which one is best?
