Do you mean that Bitcoins value proposition - digital scarcity, Store of Value - was hard to understand or the technical stuff Like the Mining, hashrate etc? Or rather the big picture that you drew in your book with technology and the free market being deflationary and needs a non inflationary money to really play out?
