🫂 headed home. It was a home school group meeting full of strangers (eek). Survived, wasn't too awful.

Was it a presentation or socializing type of thing?
This was a parents meeting to go over the rules and expectations. We still have a little bit before the classes fire up. It's our first full year home schooling the kid and we know he's going to need some peers to be around.
Ah so meeting other parents to have other kids socialize with yours?
Basically, lol. We'll see how it all pans out. If he's able to make some friends then it's a win, if not the classes he chose sound fun (it's just a supplemental once a week thing).
Do you teach all your kids classes or other people are involved too?
For the group, one parent from each family has to teach a class in 2 of the 4 sessions and all parents who aren't teaching the current session are asked to be there to help manage the kids and help keep the facility clean.
Our kid didn't choose the class hubs is teaching, so he'll be with other parents. The classes are not just "reading, writing, and 'rithmetic" they're more like what we called elective classes. We do an online curriculum for the boring stuff as the kid says.
