There is so much social construct noise - be it rituals, habits, ‘celebrations’ or ‘news’ which makes you degrade - not using your resource on actually productive things.
Most of these "social constructs" are actually social evolution and have evolved because they are useful in certain way.

Certainly makes sense; such as for manipulation, or control :)
Tools for manipulation and control are typically enforced. Evolution needs a degree of freedom.
