I really liked the link to Runescape in the article. Remembering to the good old days where everyone was yelling "Doubling Money" in the Grand Exchange :D

Wasn't there also a money sink in form of a well to fix the in game economy? As the amount of money in circulation became to large, you could voluntarily drop your money in the well and let it vanish. But at least they supported charities with the collected money.

The digital double money scam has been going on for as long as chatrooms existed for sure, and to be honest I think the scam still has a lot of legs, plenty of people aren't on the internet long enough to have been taken down by it in one shape or form so there day will come eventually

What I find funny about the whole Runscape thing is that all these P2E token/games that launched have exactly the same problem expect that the company is also trying to sell their stake in the mix, lol it's crazy how no investor or person said lets look at gaming economies of the past and why they failed

It's just like well somehow having it on a blockchain and allowing people to trade it outside the game should fix broken economics
