Well, it was like “public key? private key? wtf!”. I reckon Nostr is not easy for non-tech people, but once you understand how it works, it’s irresistible.

Exactly. This is the most "difficult" part of the process 🙂 for persons who had never heard about these. But you have just to read-search a bit and that's all (and I think this is good)
I wonder if having a short explainer video in the beginning would help?

I am not sure. I think sometimes it's good to let people search and learn a bit alone (they must want it of course). If you start to show them long strings of keys (ok it's just like pass) then maybe have the opposite results.
On the other hand a small intro to keys-pass
relays, profil image-banner and LN wallet it would be helpful for someone who decides to try it
