I had a coworker a few years ago who excitedly told me she and her husband bought a whole bitcoin. I started to tell her how amazing that was and then she clarified “Well the kind we bought is called ethereum.” It blew my mind. She and her husband are both masters level educated, successful in their professional careers, level headed intelligent people. But just had zero clue that “Bitcoin” was its one specific thing. We had a good long chat lol.
