I'm seriously thinking about where to raise my boy. In the West or East of where the Iron Curtain once was?

People of the West don't seem to understand where they are headed.

During 2020 it was like having Stasi informants everywhere.

Depends on your age and what languages you can speak I guess. I guess the easiest language to learn for a native English speaker would be Romanian as its a Romance language. Slavic languages are really difficult for anglophones to learn.

I know some basic Russian, and my wife learned it at school, which used to be useful, before the Russophobia really kicked in. Not a problem in Russia itself though. 🤔

Not a problem in most of the world. Apart from Baltics, Poland, Ukr CEE countries have neutral, mixed, or positive views.

Well that's an advantage then. Perhaps go to some places on holiday, see where you like and what you can understand. Bulgarian uses Cyrillic but they also use words from other languages so they say ciao and merci. Things are also very cheap there so perhaps having a larger property can be advantageous even if things get worse there too for whatever reason.

Your asking the right question.

Unlike perfect certainty with satoshi’s protocol, political jurisdictions are akin to bcash forks.

Today’s answer may not be tomorrow’s, or vice versa.

Seek orthogonality and choice.

The West is in decline. Need only look at birth rates and debt levels to realise those countries are going to be going backwards in terms of quality of life for decades from now.

I think it’s better to be somewhere that is ascending and ride the wave.

There are trade offs no matter what, but do you want the lives of people around you to be improving or regressing?

the east is also in decline somehow. I'd say it's more of a global down trend

My view, money is flowing from the west to the east and from soft to hard money.

I was preparing for this after this 2008 crisis, as I thought the shift was going to happen.

I bought gold and land with a small cabin to live in, planted a ton of trees, started to put together an off-grid energy system, borehole, polytunnel and so on.

Then I had to go through a divorce, as my new lifestyle was incompatible. #MidlifeCrisis
