To replace a 27in iMac, I would need to dish out 4K min if I wanted to stay in the Apple ecosystem.

The sad part is that I barely get any upgrade out of it aside from an M2 processor.

Quite the coincidence that Apple stopped making the 27in iMac 🤨

Base M2 Mini with 24GB of RAM is $1000, and it will wipe floor with any Intel iMac. You can get great 32” 4k TB monitors for around $1k. Where do you get $4k from?

I’ve looked at all sorts of displays and nothing comes close. Might be a model or 2 that’s 5 years old with horrible bezels

256GB. Do you need 512? 512 is still $1200. Performance wise this is a HUGE upgrade. Now the displays, I know some people like Apple displays as much as I hate them. Studio Display is way overpriced, option that I would consider with mate glass and height adjustable stand is $2300. 😱 And it’s still only 27”. I would suggest Benq PD322U, that’s the one I have for 2 years. It’s not as pretty but it’s much better for your eyes and colors are super precise. I also have a M1 Studio base model, M1/2 Max over M1/2 is not that much of a difference unless you do video editing and 3D rendering. Base M processors are beasts, just make sure you get enough RAM, don’t go below 16GB.

I had 27” iMac(pretty sure that was the last gen) two years ago, and for me Benq I’ve suggested is quite an upgrade. Can stare whole day in it without eye fatigue.
