We need more open source mesh network hardware. Open mesh unfortunately was bought out about 10 years ago. OpenWRT can be hit and miss

Doesn't help though unless you have a massive pipe between Iran and some other country.
The internet still works within Iran, they just cut off the international pipes to stop mossad from getting into their infrastructure.
