I believe I generally understand precisely what you are communicating -- and I feel it important to validate that experience because I do not thing it unfounded -- THAT said...with nostr..we're seeing just how quickly 'bots' can reinforce a given 'signal' or intention or perspective or piece of information - but here on nostr ....its more transparent...at least for now. -- And I'll say, even those with energy more in keeping with what you mention...I feel its somehow...soft/more real/grounded here...which is to say...-- while I may or may not agree with someone (and that's totally fine re disagreement - thats a great deal of fun! My best friends are those with whom I've had the most spirited arguments and disagreements!) -- I feel here on nostr at least we're dealing with 'real people' with 'real perspectives and experiences' ...someone growing up in one part of the world of socio-economic background as going to have a different 'data set' than another born in another time, place, and context. -- Here I find it more conducive to open and free exchange, in a more open and plain manner -- this is something I think important that Elon mentioned in his recent interview with Maher -- in some 'milieu' one cannot even question or include certain aspects of an idea or individual as a part of a broader contextual discussion without feeling as though one must 'self-censor' ..then the information and idea...really is ultimately lost...so then 'arguments' are being levied that are actually vague approximations and intimations... -- it degrades the quality of discussion. -- I think nostr has different people with different ideas, and I think that essential and pretty awesome, and here I feel like I can be friends with people that I disagree on some things with...for instance...I very much believe that we're at a technological point where the US should've figured out a solution to 'medical bankruptcy' being the number 1 cause of bankruptcy in the US kinda thing -every other industrialized nation has a right to healthcare .... some friends of mine are very much in agreement with that... -- I also very much appreciate and see the very real value of the 2nd amendment...that is a very nuanced discussion....and one that several friends of mine disagree with me...and that's fine -- it's that intersection of ideas that allows us to collectively grow and refine.....and nostr is a place at least for the time being...where I feel we can all 'be' around each other and vibe...and learn and grow and 'see' each other more.... -- It's the importance of not forgetting the initial images our of Russia leading up to the war in Ukraine ... THE PEOPLE of Russia...in public places..in large groups...showing up in vast numbers peacefully to show that THE PEOPLE ...didn't want this war. -- WE win when we 'see' each other ...rn ... I feel I can 'see' other people a bit more genuinely and clearly. --- imo.

thank you so much for your kind words & many thoughts. ✨🙏✨ i think you make an interesting point about how nostr being censorship-free also attracts or invites some people to share their deeper thoughts, thereby making it feel more “real.”

i can appreciate the second amendment, especially how the point of it is to protect against tyranny or people who would control the government in evil ways. but most people who just love their guns are not showing off their guns for such nuanced and intellectual reasons. it is usually just an attempt to be a signal of how “cool” they are while feeding a culture that permits and welcomes violence.

and incidentally, the same knucklehead culture of that part of america is also responsible for the extreme immorality of the healthcare system. the highest cost (bankruptcies) with some of the worst health.

you’re right…nostr is also fun when it’s about honest & earnest debate! ✨🤗✨
