I like winter because I can actually go out and do yard work without sweating my ass off. My property has quite a number of trees, and those trees drop quite a number of leaves and twigs and sticks. And going out and raking all that shit up when it's 100 degrees in July is no fun. Doing it when it's 50 degrees in December isn't bad. I do as little as I can get away with during the summer and do more of it during the winter. I'm also considering getting one of those vests that you can put ice packs in that you wear during the summer to at least prolong the ability to stay outdoors.

Yeah I like winter for similar reasons but I also hate waking up freezing.

Blankets, my friend. Blankets. They cost a hell of a lot less than electricity for heaters. The human body puts off about 200 watts of heat, and so all you have to do is capture it and retain it. And blankets are great for doing that.
