Never send directly to cold wallets. Always use a "cache" wallet, in the middle, where are you managing funds in/out. It could be your LN node(s), decoy nodes/wallets etc.

Will a „cache“ wallet help with „lost my keys in a boating accident“?
A big counter argument to „lost my keys in a boating accident“ is if the addresses of the fund are known (maybe through usage of kyc exchanges). If the funds move in the future, one can assume you regained control over them. When using a cache wallet it is not obvious that the second cold storage wallet belongs to the same person who owns the cache wallet.
