### Proton Email - Alternative Secure Email

Proton email is an alternative to Big Tech's spymail services. (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.)

They Promote Swiss Privacy:

"ProtonMail is incorporated in Switzerland and all our servers are located in Switzerland. This means all user data is protected by strict Swiss privacy laws."

However, Proton's privacy has recently been proven to not be as robust as people once thought. Here's a webpage that goes over Proton's lack of privacy:

Proton Email uses End-to-End Encryption:

"We use end-to-end encryption and zero access encryption to secure emails. This means even we cannot decrypt and read your emails. As a result, your encrypted emails cannot be shared with third parties."

If you are using an email client, such as Thunderbird, you will need the ProtonMail Bridge. This will grant you the actual credentials you will need to place Proton email within Thunderbird for it to use. The object is to encrypt/decrypt your messages locally.
