Other programs like 5-3-1, Texas Method, Conjugate, Westside, and any program that incorporates sports practice are intermediate.

The intermediate text on the topic is the grey book. Again SS is for people who have never trained at all.

Intermediate defined as the period where adaptations occur about once a week rather than every training session like during NLP(3x) a week.

Well I was lifting for a good 4 years before I got onto Starting Strength. They put 100 pounds on my squat within 6 months. They have me on an "advanced" program now. My squat goes up once every three weeks.

Wouldn't say SS is only for beginners. The NLP is for beginners.
