why the eyes suddenly - still curious 👀

Seedsigner is like Lightning.

It’s the best idea but has a lot of issues that it’s not ready for yet.

I’ve spent hours stamping steel QRs only to either screw up one punch or, worse, not having a good enough camera to pick it up.

ColdCard is like the base layer for storage. It’s here and ready and a no brainer.

SS is early but, like lightning - will be the standard for everything not in super cold storage.

why are you comparing hardware to layer 2 software

other then that thanks for the review 😁

Cold storage has layers like software. Base layer is your stack that no fucking way you want anything to happen to and you won’t even spend it. Never sees the light of day.

For most people, there’s more to their bitcoin than just that. So there’s another layer where you have more easy access but take a little more risk.

There are likely at least 4 or 5 layers I could distinguish if you pushed me:

consider yourself pushed, I'd like to read that perspective

I have both, but I can only build the SeedSigner with my own hands. That is all.

right

how's your perspective on the QR stamping issue i hear from fundamentals?

i heard from people around me they use 3d printed qr plates.. might that be a solution to the problem ppl have with stamping?

Personally, for now I'm comfortable with a few hand drawn copies of the QR that are missing a passphrase. Might set up multisig in the future, but feels a bit burdensome for little extra gain.
