Something’s off at OFF

Is this truly the vibe of my tribe?

And is it just me that feels hypocrisy?

I cannot really put my finger on it,

but something about this show does not feel legit.

All of the words say that I should belong,

so why on earth do I feel something’s wrong?

I’m grateful to be here, maybe it’s just too good to be true.

And my HRF grant is long overdue.

But instead of imagining a world without borders,

I learned about the violence of statist orders,

And I guess that’s where I feel so torn,

are we building the future or are we watching torture porn?

This is the place where beauty meets rich,

Bathed in the smell of unearned privilege,

Which makes me ask this question once more:

Is this truly freedom, or just sharks smelling gore?

I have no answer, but I do know we try,

Some in a camouflage onesie, others in suit and bow tie.

Time @OFF gave me hope,

Because I’m sure I can see,

A world without a president, king or pope.
