Remember in grade school when everyone had to do a poster board presentation on something, and everyone largely followed the same format as one another? That’s analogous to life. Most people try to make sure their poster board looks like everyone else’s.

But it’s your project. You can do it however you want. There’s no rules or guidelines.

Life is far more interesting when you deviate from the norm and make your poster board how you want it, because it’s yours.

I always think about this. I don’t care about being accepted or validated. This is my project and I’m gonna do it how I do it. You can worry about how you do yours.

Life is a big poster board project.

You made me laugh!

I laugh at this because, my grade school poster board one time was about street racing..lol

While everyone else did something normal & cliché like you say, I did mine on something that, as a whole lifestyle, is considered to be on the otherside of the law (but not so as I was explaining). Emphasizing safety but also freedom of choice, especially free market (race for money).

The whole time I could feel the judgement from the other kids, parents, and teachers

I had to spin it saying "don't street race, take it to the track";

But I knew all the parents would speed to get to work, or not stop at a stop sign, etc. and when I bought that up in a non-direct way, they didn't like that lol

As you say, life is a poster board.

Make it your own, & don't give a fuck what others think of you. I sure didn't

Makes even more sense why I'm here 😎
