I think about this issue a lot. It's tricky for me but I think I've arrived at a reasonable answer. The reality is that most humans are simply sheep. This is not something that bitcoin fixes. I love the bitcoin fixes this meme but it doesn't fix an evolutionary problem. What bitcoin does fix is the lack of optionality that humans had. If you wanted to be free 100 years ago, you needed to be in the US. That is no longer the case today. If you want to be free, you probably shouldn't be in the US. Bitcoin gives the people smart enough to recognize this and overcome the propaganda, the option to take their money and leave. The sovereign individual, in my opinion, is the most accurate representation of freedom for the future.
