Compared to what? There's a quote in "The Price of Tomorrow" that compares a million dollars worth of storage to <2 cents worth of storage. Through time. I believe the quantity was 1 Megabyte.
Not sure what you're talking about but in cloud computing storage is normally the most expensive resource.
