SMB requires a user and (in most cases) pw. Maybe that is the problem.

You need to set this up on server side.

I m not familiar with Apple. Some SMB servers rject connections if the SMB username and your client user name differ, cos your client system might automatically put in your client system username as SMB user.

NAS user and SMB user are different. Is your NAS Linux based?
