Was just watching a short interview on Swedish television.

A politician was arguing for her proposal to scan all encrypted messages.

She even had an analogy... Like a "police dog sniffing packages at the post office not knowing the content but finding drugs".

She saw nothing wrong with all private messages being scanned to prevent "sexual abuse of 5 year old girls".

Made me so sick I had to turn it off.

Why don't we scan all politicians messages for keywords decided by the people?

What is the world coming to.

I would definitely exchange all my privacy ifthat would save children from sexual abuse.

The problem is that it will not. It will probably create more abuse since the scanners themselves are the biggest abusers.

Oooh.. That's an interesting take on it! We are just assumed to accept the hypothesis that giving away our privacy will result in less/no abuse.
