𝟭𝟲: I am thankful for 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗻-𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 that encourage self-custody.

Satoshi created a new kind of money that doesn’t need to be custodied by anyone but yourself. He also created just 𝘰𝘯𝘦, for the purpose of securing our sovereignty. He knew that money is a zero-sum game, and that attempting to use multiple forms of money at once is a great way for the fiat parasites to divide and conquer us.

But what do most people do when they discover Satoshi’s creation? They create 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 of fragile copies, gamble on them, convince themselves that one of them is “the next Bitcoin”, and leave them 𝘢𝘯𝘥 their #bitcoin on exchanges for them to custody.

There are some exchanges that 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 deal with Bitcoin, make it easy for you to self-custody, and repeatedly emphasize that you should, but unfortunately there are still far too few of them! A couple of these include nostr:npub1tftc33ttam85wraffce62cgtvvjrmttquqlv6a0agtfm5nl4vues82xar5 and @relai_app, but what are 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 favorites?

𝟭𝟳: I am thankful for 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀.

Though they probably should be called “signing devices”, these hold your private key and use it to sign transactions for you. The best ones, such as nostr:npub17tyke9lkgxd98ruyeul6wt3pj3s9uxzgp9hxu5tsenjmweue6sqq4y3mgl and ColdCard, allow you to create a private key offline, and keep it from 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 touching the internet, eliminating any chance of it ever being compromised that way.

𝟭𝟴: I am thankful for President Nayib Bukele 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 in El Salvador.

His country was well-known for its crime and poverty, but thanks to all of Nayib Bukele’s efforts (not just those related to #Bitcoin), 𝗘𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮. Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert are even inviting bitcoiners to visit and verify the improvements for themselves, and many are heeding their call.

Because nothing speeds up the adoption of a thing like making it illegal!

Every time a government bans #Bitcoin, the ban not only fails, but it also freely advertises Bitcoin to those who aren’t familiar with it yet. Even after China banned it over and over again, Bitcoin is still being used and mined there.

𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲🤙 and 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲🔄 this if you are also thankful for governments 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 to ban Bitcoin!

𝟮𝟬: I am thankful for 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗨𝗗.

FUD — or 𝗙ear, 𝗨ncertainty, and 𝗗oubt — raises awareness of #Bitcoin, thereby speeding up its adoption, while simultaneously helping bitcoiners strengthen their arguments. And when FUD has been even a 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 true, that has been a signal to bitcoiners to work on improving that particular aspect of Bitcoin.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿, and FUD in all its forms is one of the main reasons why Bitcoin and bitcoiners are as resilient as they are today.

Because of you, I can answer an ever-growing list of questions about #Bitcoin in a direct and truthful way. As more people enter this space, I will be there to answer all their questions, 𝘴𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰.
