How long does LND take to sync to the graph?

I’ve been waiting for about 4 days.

All depends on your network speed

No more than a week for most average internet speeds

This is running on a modern gaming machine and my isp provides 1gb speed (closer to 900mb)

It took about a week to sync the blockchain but I thought the LND sync would sync up in less than a day. No?

Hmm odd.. Especially for your setup. Should've been done in 24-48 hours.

Is your ISP providing asynchronous speeds? If so that's your problem.

The real bottleneck that often gets overlooked is the uploading each block header to other nodes. Also the read & write speed of your SSD, but if you have gaming setup that shouldn't be the problem.

So if your ISP upload speed is "slow", then that is your bottleneck.

Upload is about 40mb

That would be your bottleneck then. This only applies for IBD. A week or so is normal for IBD 👍

Bummer your ISP doesn't give you fiber optic for synchronous download/upload speeds.

Fiber not available in my area or many places so I have same issue; regardless of OP hardware.

Breaking news:

Self-custodial Lightning user learns that LND is shit.

😄.

What do you recommend as an alternative to LND?

CLN by Blockstream.

Best is running Electrum tho (everyone including ACINQ [maker of phoenix wallet] uses them).

(ACINQ doesn't even use their own LN implementation éclair

Wait, they don't use it on Phoenix anymore?
