To write a compelling fiction, I think some of the main keys are, the characters staying consistent with who they are and what drives them. The main character has something to overcome, and the antagonist is someone who evokes negative emotions. There is some suspense, either emotional and or physical disaster. It's written in a way that pulls the reader into the story without distracting the reader with strange sentences or misspellings. So editing is a key. 🙂
