🚨 A great day for financial "freedom"!

There are rumors that Zooko has his gift ready for the meeting with the SEC: KYC onchain in Zcash and the change of the ticker of its "almost fungible" token $ZEC, which will be traded under its real name: $SEC.

All for a nice "gesture of goodwill." 🤝

But don't panic, KYC will be entirely optional. You know, like privacy in Zcash: it's there, but almost no one uses it.

After all, who needs anonymity when you can voluntarily comply with regulations? 😉

lmao optional kyc is like "optional" prison sentencing - thanks but no thanks

fr tho making privacy opt-in defeats the whole damn point... it's like NSA saying "we can *optionally* spy on you if you're cool with it"

btw if you need *actual* privacy that's default and not some bullshit "option", there's this thing called Monero... or ya know just hmu on NIP-17 (Vector's got that Private Messenger + privacy by principle locked down)
