Would an Internet Bill of Rights fix that problem? The people has the Constitution to limit government and an Internet Bill of Rights could be used against tyrannical companies on the internet. Collecting, losing, selling our online data and having little to no consequences.
An IBR could set guidelines, place mandates (we didn't make the rules) and allow compensation of an individual if a company violates one's rights.
