My kid says he’s full and 5 minutes later says I’m hungry. What is that about? 🤨

Hungry for snacks
You can ask politely, yet firmly “Do you wanna see the back of my hand up close?”
How do you react to that?
Depends on many things. How much he ate, my willingness to deal with it. If didn’t eat much I just leave the food there and let him come back to it. And if ate all / seconds - I might be infuriated and just not accommodate other than fruits that they typically eat. Maybe that’s sending mixed signals? 🤷♂️
The circumstances and kids are always different 🫂 with us it was always so that there was when the meal was completed and the kid said that he/she is full no real meal or sweets until the next meal. But I always put fresh fruit or cut vegetables (peppers, cucumbers or the like) on the table. There everyone could help himself at any time. Has worked quite well
Kids first need to learn the skills when it comes to sensing your own body's needs.
Best example for that is the inability to judge if they gotta pee or not. They just don't notice anything until it either starts to hurt in their belly and they reach a toilet in the last second before explosion or until it's getting warm and wet in their pants. I guess with hunger it's kinda the same.
powergames ... as a cat you should know 😂
same same.
Same with my younger one.
I think he gets bored eating on the table but then realises it’s more fun with everyone at the table and wants back.
Normally if we haven’t finished we let him back.
Or sometimes it is a hunger for a treat.
Kids being kids 🤷🏻 mine are always hungry
Enough to drive a parent mad
My kid too. Older one is so difficult when it comes to eating. Our second is easy, though. Just set any meat in front of him and he goes to town!
What are you feeding him?
Carbs and sugar
