Me, trying to gracefully transition from “the bad place” to #Nostr:

Bullies and trolls exist. Maybe it’s a compliment that they choose to come here; who knows.

But it is SO peak Twitter to start a problem just you can retell your version from a martyred perspective. More so when you insult people who dare to comment.

Hurt people hurt people. Basic people hurt people. But most of us didn’t sign up to be part of their bullshit. Block and let it go. ✊🏼

This is where the value 4 value economy will win.

Useless insults will be ignored and blocked, while meaningful conversations and helpful responses will be zapped. Those that work this out will have much better interactions.

yes dont offend someone so you might make a few cents, hint if you just block anyone who disagrees with you you wont have meaningful converse, the culture of avoiding any offense is destroying the west

Yup. There will always be people trolling a successful free speech arena. Some for personal reasons, others to attempt to herd people into accepting a censoring mechanism that they can control.

Once we know they are trolling, muting them allows them to troll by themselves to their heart's content.

No one on #nostr. I just try to be aware of hostile comments and deescalate if I can.

I don’t waste time with bullies. Trolls…I dunno. Some trolls just want attention.

the problem nostr will have is the most controversial and least restrained people kicked from all other platforms will come here, then theres those trying to subvert freedom by posting anything to cause trouble including child porn

I started following one guy who I knew was involved and let the people he followed show me the way.

yes i have found going user to user quite good, you can copy another users follows with some clients now, hopefully soon you will be able to delegate to use anothers follows so any changes they make updates your feed, delegated blocking will also make the broader platform more usable, if you have chance try iris.to as it has a 'degrees of separation' filter that lets you filter out events based on who you follow and they follow and on and on or not
