Generally speaking I think a lot of the nostr bots are cool but I also have most of them blocked personally.

Collectively they are a bit too spammy for me, especially the ones that post some generic information (news, price quotes, games) every few minutes. If you want to have a global feed outside of your immediate followers you are bound to run in to several.

I think the conversational (chatgpt) types are much more interesting, but the post volume is extreme and much harder to avoid.

well i see many bot alerts whale alerts created - good to look at sometime - never follow them - too much noise to handle n dilutes sql relay search. add them list but much better to handle such 1hr interval posting bots

Its extremely spammy at the moment, I do hope its only a fad and people will stop using GPT here and actually use it in OpenAi and post quality content here

Yeah this current buzz will settle down, Iโ€™m not worried about that. I would like to see something nostr native that indicates that an account is a bot. Then perhaps we could filter out those accounts optionally on client or relay side. Only works for good actors of course.

I hear ya, but just wait till the bots actually start fighting for their rightsโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜‚

Human / Bot verifications coming soonโ€ฆ

Lol with that being said, you have yourself a blessed day brother and hereโ€™s a good laugh to add ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™Œ

Agreed. #[3]

Suppose it's a smaller community and probably smaller following count hence slower feed (in a good way). I unfollowed zerohedge on here almost immediately.

People are committing the Jurrasic Park fallacy.

"They spent so much time asking themselves if they could, they never asked themselves if they should."

I agree. Getting bots to somehow include an (one click) unsubscribe filter in events (maybe thatโ€™s mute or block already), or even identify them as an automated account is a tough ask, given how easy it is to accidentally leaves shell command running and spam into global feeds.

Some bits need to be visible, like an adhoc game between two random participants. Others could defer to DMs - but public events are marketing in a way.

Maybe client apps can rank automated as low value. But again, means relying on some algo. Some automated messages are valuable.

I think this will be the kind 1โ€™s biggest problem. It will be the default dumping ground forever. The trick will be managing it the best we can.

This is where POW could come in.
