How about just concentrate on making the best app that you can and not worry about social engineering other people.
Amethyst is awesome, crippling it (removing zaps for Gplay) just to force people into doing what you think they should do just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
Now, giving advice, opinions and educating your customers and having discussions with them is just good business.
