Just listened! Wild what the advertising model incentivizes social media companies to do..
And now those companies are locked into it because they have a lawful duty to their shareholders to continue increasing shareholder value.
There’s no perfect solution for kids on the internet and social media.
I’m bullish on Nostr/Primal because we get to learn from the mistakes of our predecessors and be more mindful of our decisions.
Also bullish because many of the people building this space acknowledge the downfalls of social media and can’t help but try to build a more sane place online possibly for their children one day. My hope that social media returns to a powerful tool instead of what it’s become.
Also, nostr:nprofile1qqs8d3c64cayj8canmky0jap0c3fekjpzwsthdhx4cthd4my8c5u47spzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wvh8xmmrd9skcqg5waehxw309aex2mrp0yhxgctdw4eju6t0hhdr6m has created a “social media bill of rights” you may find interesting.
