Selfish, ambitious, power hungry people define peace as complete surrender and subjugation to their rule

Agreed. I am still curious to hear what examples you have from history where peace was broken, and a stronger, more stable peaceful order was created

I would say that while WW2 contributed to decolonization,
it also contributed to the creation of NATO, the IMF, the World Bank, the Cold War and the WHO..
