2m VHF 144-148Mhz and 79cm UHF 420-450 are the other common radio bands used by HAM radio. These are also walkytalky like in size but are where you begin to see stationary radio setups for these channels. And also repeaters.

The frequency 146.40 MHz is used in some areas as a repeater input.

When you see a TALL antennae, that’s HF comms. Usually away from metal and at a clear high point. This how you talk across the world. HF goes really far.
