Oprea, a simple peasant from Săliștea, Transylvania, stood firm in his Orthodox faith when pressured to convert to Calvinism in the 18th century. Despite imprisonment and torture, he refused to renounce his beliefs. He was eventually martyred for his unwavering devotion, becoming a symbol of resistance against religious oppression.
Holy Martyr Oprea, intercede for us, that we may remain steadfast in our #Faith and witness to the truth of #Orthodoxy. May your example inspire us to defend the vulnerable and uphold the principles of justice. #Saints #ChristianCourage #RomanianSaints
