Once you understand that Bitcoiners not only created Bitcoin, but also Monero things start to make more sense.
Maximalism outside of high ideals and principles as guiding principals (freedom, privacy,...) Is never a good idea in a fluctuating world. One day we'll need to abandon Monero and you want your ego. to be ready for that.
That's what leaders do. They give orientation to others by stringent primcipled action in a chaotic world
I see both maximalism as a golden opportunity to troll both sides
