Update on Ruben 🦁
For the 1st time in over 6 years Ruben has come face to face with another lion!
They both sat at the end of their cages watching each other for hours, before Ruben let out a little roar and then Easy the lionesses responded with a roar that allowed him to hear another lion for the 1st time in 6 years! Happy tears 🥹
He is finally on SA soil and awaiting clearance from veterinarians before embarking on his final journey to his new forever home!

Thats awesome. I read that lions live about 8-15 years so to go without another lion around for 6 years is a really long time to be alone

Ahoy! So is he going into a zoo or out into the wild?
He is not going to any type of zoo, and sadly he cannot be re-wild as he is too old and would be killed by other lion prides.
He is going to a rescue sanctuary where he will live out his remaining years and looked after here is the link;
Oh no, really? Was he in a zoo or something? Hes gonna be in one of those safari parks where they only get observed? 🙏
