Just installed Phoenix Wallet. First thing I notice? Calls home to Google. Why is this recommended again? Was going to give it a try but I'm skeptical now.

Blixt Wallet is the only Wallet I know that does not call Google (yet).

Yes, it is a self custodial lightning wallet, "node in yer phone" style.

You can send to one. Also, you have to connect to your own channels, and if you want inbound liquidity, you can either use Blixt’s LSP or connect to a receive channel.
